sing their way to help wounded troops"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A group of singing soldiers have helped to raise more than &pound;250,000 for forces charities by releasing an album of tracks dedicated to their comrades serving on the frontline in Afganistan.<\/p>\n<p>The trio of troops &ndash; Richie Maddocks, Lance Corporal Ryan Idzi and Sergeant Major Gary Chilton &ndash; generated the cash from sales from the Coming Home album, which features classic tracks such as Bring Him Home, Against All Odds and Lean On Me.<\/p>\n<p>Their next track to be released I Will Carry You is to be dedicated to their colleagues and the three serviceman have appealed to those serving the Helmand province area of Afghanistan to sing on the single, which is to feature on their upcoming second album.<\/p>\n<p>Coming Home reached number four in the UK album charts and the &pound;271,000 raised from its sales have now been donated to the Army Benevolent Fund, the Royal British Legion and the Help For Heroes charity, which provides rehabilitation services for soldiers injured while in battle.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Help for Heroes message is to be further bolstered by non-league football team Witton Albion, which has agreed to have the charity&rsquo;s logo emblazoned across their kit to raise awareness of the cause.<\/p>\n<p>Posted by Mark Wilkins<br> &nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\"
