Single soldiers using online dating as a means to pick up partners may want to consider the type of language they adopt when approaching the matter.<\/p>\n
According to Amelia McDonnell-Parry, a writer for The Frisky, using ‘text speak’ when liaising on the internet can be a real turn-off.<\/p>\n
The relationship expert noted such abbreviations should be avoided when first communicating with someone new.<\/p>\n
Speaking of her own experiences of cyber courtship, Ms McDonnell Parry claimed she met a guy who seemed almost perfect.<\/p>\n
“However, there [was] one thing about him rubbing me up the wrong way – he peppers his messages with ‘lol’,” she explained.<\/p>\n
The specialist advised this kind of grammar can seem lazy and a little juvenile and recommends subscribers adopt a more polite and considered writing technique.<\/p>\n
Internet dating is currently opening up more possibilities for singletons than at any other time, the Chicago Tribune recently claimed.<\/p>\n
