&#8216;swimming for hero troops&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An ex-soldier is to take to the water in an effort to help heroic troops injured in battle.<\/p>\n<p>Burgh le Marsh resident John Chapman will take part in every British Gas swim event held this season, the Skegness Standard reports.<\/p>\n<p>And the money the former serviceman &ndash; who served for six years in the Royal Regiment of Wales &ndash; raises will go to the Help for Heroes charity.<\/p>\n<p>The undertaking involves five one-mile outdoor contests across the UK &ndash; two of which, at Alton Waters in Suffolk and Royal Victoria Dock in London &ndash; Mr Chapman has already completed.<\/p>\n<p>He remarked: Everyone who has helped has been fantastic, let&rsquo;s hope we can raise some money for the lads.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Next up is a swim meet in Strathclyde, Scotland, which will take place on August 21st.<\/p>\n<p>Rock star Rod Stewart recently announced he was granting free access to members of
