{"id":39,"date":"2009-12-29T15:27:29","date_gmt":"2009-12-29T15:27:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forcespenpals.net\/p=?39"},"modified":"2009-12-29T15:27:29","modified_gmt":"2009-12-29T15:27:29","slug":"royal-marine-donates-kidney-to-save-sons-life","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forcespenpals.net\/gb\/news\/royal-marine-donates-kidney-to-save-sons-life\/","title":{"rendered":"Royal Marine donates kidney to save son&#8217;s life"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After battling the Taliban in Afghanistan Royal Marine James King returned home to face an even bigger challenge &ndash; saving his three-year-old son&rsquo;s life.<\/p>\n<p>The 29 year old donated one of his kidneys to his little boy and three months later both father and son are in rude health, the Daily Mail reports.<\/p>\n<p>After spending most of his short life in and out of hospital, James Junior feared he may never have a normal life thanks to a kidney infection he developed while in the womb.<\/p>\n<p>His mother told the newspaper that following the transplant, the kid is going from strength to strength.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;This has given him a new lease of life. He is like a different little boy. Before the transplant he got tired on a short walk or after playing for a little while, and with other children he was quiet and withdrawn.
