{"id":377,"date":"2010-07-06T16:41:15","date_gmt":"2010-07-06T16:41:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forcespenpals.net\/p=?377"},"modified":"2010-07-06T16:41:15","modified_gmt":"2010-07-06T16:41:15","slug":"fun-day-raises-cash-for-hero-troops","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forcespenpals.net\/gb\/news\/fun-day-raises-cash-for-hero-troops\/","title":{"rendered":"Fun day raises cash for hero troops"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hundreds of people turned out to show their support for the military at a special event in Abingdon at the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The Abingdon Station Armed Forces Open Day included a series of displays performed by a range of acts, such as the Royal Logistic Corps and Morris dancers, the Herald Series reports.<\/p>\n<p>Guests to Dalton Barracks were treated to a number of fairground attractions, paint-balling and go-karting at the free-admission gathering.<\/p>\n<p>Collections were held for both the Army Benevolent Fund and Help for Heroes charities throughout the day.<\/p>\n<p>Duncan Brown, the local mayor, commented: &quot;It was very good.
