Soldiers who have been injured in action are to receive free bus travel in Wales, it has emerged.<\/p>\n
War veterans in Wales are to benefit from the scheme, which will come into effect next year, Coach Broker News reports.<\/p>\n
Social justice minister Carl Sargeant made the announcement in the run-up to the second national Armed Forces Day, which took place in Cardiff on Saturday June 26th.<\/p>\n
The move is part of a number of measures being planned by the Welsh Assembly to help support returning troops and their families.<\/p>\n
It has also set up an advisory group, which will aim to make recommendations to leading authorities in regards to how it can best help injured servicemen and women.<\/p>\n
Last week, three soldiers – Captain Tresham Gregg, Lieutenant Sergeant Matthew Turrall and Corporal Paul Mather – were all awarded the Military Cross at a ceremony held in Buckingham Palace for showing exemplary gallantry.<\/p>\n
