Warrant officer Class 1 Rob Seabridge was posted to the country in 2006 for two years and was moved by the wonderful kids he met while out there.<\/p>\n
To put a smile on their young faces, he collected hundreds of items ranging from wheelchairs, bunk beds, spectacles, clothes and toys for them to open at Christmas.<\/p>\n
He is now trying to raise money to help cover the £2,500 cost of sending the gifts out there.<\/p>\n
Warrant officer Seabridge said there was one little girl in particular who inspired him to do something to help the children.<\/p>\n
"There was a small child who used to hang around the camp. I asked who she was and was told her name was Sia and that she was the daughter of the late lieutenant Mbowa in the Sierra Leone army," he stated.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, troops on the front line in Afghanistan are to receive some Christmas cheer as well, with the uk4u Thanks charity sending lots of gifts to Helmand Province.<\/p>\n
