So rather than holding a pity-me party, show him your sassy and confident side.<\/p>\n<p>After all, if he did not fancy you or he felt there was something wrong with your looks, then he probably would not be dating you.<\/p>\n<p>This is not to suggest that you should come across as vain or arrogant, but do not spend the entire time putting a downer on yourself as it will most likely just bore him.<\/p>\n<p>Besides, it is probably not true anyway.<\/p>\n<p><strong>'I am the centre of my universe'<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While it is never, ever a good idea to depreciate yourself, avoid talking about yourself the whole time.<\/p>\n<p>Generally, this is a rule for both guys and girls. If your only point of conversation is how fabulous you are, how great you are, how perfect you are and how your life is so wonderful, then it may lead him to wonder just where he fits into that picture.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By talking only or mainly about yourself, you may give him the impression that is all you care about.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Of course, it is good to share some facts about yourself, as long as there is balance in the conversation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>'I am nervous'<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There is literally nothing to gain by admitting how nervous you are. Of course, most people are a bag of nerves on the first date, but rather than turning your rendezvous into a confessional, you really just want to ooze confidence.<\/p>\n<p><strong>'I am a daddy's\/mummy's girl'<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Say what? Again, this is one of those bizarre, dead-end conversation killers that can only serve to put a damper on his impression of you.<\/p>\n<p>Telling your potential hubby that you are a mummy's or daddy's girl will lose you some serious 'cool' points in the eyes of most people and makes you look like you are not independent.<\/p>\n<p>Remember, he is on a date with you, not your parents.<\/p>\n<p><strong>'How much money do you earn?'&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Seriously, this just makes you look like a gold digger. Automatically expecting him to fork out your half of the bill is also a no-no.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Many guys are quite the gentleman on a first date and will gladly offer to at least buy you a drink or something, but not if they feel like they are being taken advantage of.<\/p>\n<p><strong>'My ex was fantastic\/My ex was a jerk'<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bringing up an old flame is always a big no when it comes to dating. Bringing up the great things your other boyfriend used to do will lead your new date to wonder whether you are over him. Similarly, ranting about what a terrible person your ex is will also make him wonder whether it is truly 'over' with your ex and encourage him to question whether you are likely to come to the same conclusions with any future relationship.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Spanish Inquisition<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It is a date, not an interrogation.
