The restaurant known as Curry Shop Shimizu has aimed for a world first by selling poo-flavoured curry, which comes in a dish shaped like a toilet-shaped bowl.<\/p>\n
The eatery opened earlier this month and named the dish as its main speciality.<\/p>\n
Ken Shimizu, executive chef and restaurant owner, created the curry but he also has another interesting line of work that inspired the dish.<\/p>\n
He was one of Japan's most popular male porn stars who was inspired to create the dish by some of the 'specialist' scenes he has performed in more than 1,000 X-rated films, which involved eating faeces, according to Kotaku.com.<\/p>\n
Of course, customers will undoubtedly be relieved to know that the dish does not actually contain any poo, and is instead comprised of natural ingredients like green tea, bitter gourd and cocoa powder.<\/p>\n
Apparently, when combined, the mixture looks and tastes like human faeces. <\/p>\n
Before creating the dish, the actor-turned-chef conducted a survey of 400 locals to see whether there would be a demand for the stomach-churning recipe.<\/p>\n
Surprisingly, nine per cent said they would be willing to try it, although the vast majority told him that it was a crazy idea.<\/p>\n
As part of a bid to encourage customers to take up the challenge of consuming the poop, Mr Shimizu said that anyone who does manage to polish off the culinary toilet treat will be awarded with a commemorative sticker.<\/p>\n
