{"id":3172,"date":"2015-08-11T18:23:26","date_gmt":"2015-08-11T18:23:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forcespenpals.net\/p=?3172"},"modified":"2015-08-11T18:23:26","modified_gmt":"2015-08-11T18:23:26","slug":"judge-orders-man-to-marry-girlfriend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forcespenpals.net\/gb\/news\/judge-orders-man-to-marry-girlfriend\/","title":{"rendered":"Judge orders man to marry girlfriend"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A man has been ordered to marry his girlfriend or face going to jail.<\/p>\n<p>Josten Bundy, of Tyler, Texas, was arrested after punching his girlfriend&rsquo;s ex-partner and was placed on probation.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the condition of his probation, Bundy was given the ultimatum by Smith County Judge Randall Rogers.<\/p>\n<p>The couple, in Smith County, East Texas, were present in court for the order from Judge Randall Roberts &ndash; which was an alternative to 15 days in jail.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking about the events that led up to the fight, 20 year-old Bundy told KLTV: &quot;[The ex-boyfriend] had been saying disrespectful things about Elizabeth, so I challenged him to a fight. He stepped in and I felt like it was on and I hit him in the jaw twice.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>It means Bundy has to marry within 30 days, otherwise he would be jailed.<\/p>\n<p>His girlfriend, Elizabeth Jaynes, told KLTV that she was embarrassed by the proposal.<\/p>\n<p>She said: &quot;My face was so red, people behind me were laughing.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Judge Rogers, who declined to comment on the case, reportedly asked Bundy &ldquo;Is she worth it?&rdquo; before handing down the judgement.<\/p>\n<p>Jaynes added: &quot;I used to watch 'Say Yes to the Dress' and all those shows and all the dresses and think about what kind of dress I would have.<br> &ldquo;I would have liked a spring wedding when it&rsquo;s not too hot and not too cold.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Her father said that he was angry about the order.<\/p>\n<p>The pair booked an appointment with the justice of the peace to get married.<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"ADNFCR-2867-ID-801797263-ADNFCR\" src=\"http:\/\/feeds.directnews.co.uk\/feedtrack\/justcopyright.gif?feedid=2867&amp;itemid=801797263\"\/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A man has been ordered to marry his girlfriend or face going to jail.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":3521,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_et_pb_use_builder":"","_et_pb_old_content":"","_et_gb_content_width":"","_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[4],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-3172","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-lads-mag-for-armed-forces"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.2 -
