For the past ten years, Blut Katzchen, 28, has allowed men and women to drink her blood.<\/p>\n
She has travelled across the US and provides the service to individuals who believe they are vampires.<\/p>\n
One of those is 43-year-old Michael Vachmiel from Houston, Texas who says he likes to drink her blood.<\/p>\n
He claims that her blood gives him the energy he needs to survive.<\/p>\n
Both he and Ms Katzchen get together a few times each year for ritualistic purposes.
Ms Katzchen described herself as a black swan, a person who allows others to consume their blood.<\/p>\n
She said in an interview with the Mirror: "I have always been entranced with the whole vampire culture since I was very young. I found a book on vampires in my sister's collection and became completely entranced with it. It takes a very specific type of mindset to enjoy being a swan – you have to be more submissive and enjoy giving."<\/p>\n
However, the entire process is not exactly the same as the movies, according to the pair.<\/p>\n
There are no sharp fangs involved, and instead, they use suction cups and razors.<\/p>\n
The razors are used to pierce the skin and the suction cups extract the blood.<\/p>\n
In addition, the area where the blood is to be drawn from is sterilised, while Mr Vachmiel uses mouthwash.<\/p>\n
Ms Katzchen, said: "There are some risks involved, but we do everything we can to keep it as clean as possible. I've been doing this for almost thirteen years and I have never had an STD or blood borne illness scare.<\/p>\n
"It's a release like any other release people seek – if you're getting something out of it and the drinker is too – then I don't see a problem with it. It's a spiritual thing for me – to be able to give energy to someone even if it's a small bit is an extremely liberation feeling."<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
