Ok, now this may seem a little cliched, or like something you’d read from an interview coach, but it can also work wonders for your love life.<\/p>\n
You don’t want to be that “boring”, self-deprecating guy who she complains to her mates about, nor do you want to be that forgettable one-hit wonder.<\/p>\n
If you want to be in it to win it – then you have to stand out from the crowd. Therefore, without sounding like an arrogant jerk, be sure to talk yourself up.<\/p>\n
If you are good at playing guitar, cooking (women love a man who can cook), or you are great at poetry, be sure to highlight this.<\/p>\n
Showing that you are a strong, independent man with a variety of skills and interests, will make you seem that much more attractive to a potential date.<\/p>\n
Of course the key to this is timing – you don’t want to come across as boastful or self-absorbed, so mention these things naturally in the course of a conversation.<\/p>\n
Body language<\/strong><\/p>\n We hear it all the time from dating experts. A strong handshake, eye contact and a good posture, will make you seem much more assertive, and dare I say, sexy.<\/p>\n On the other hand, if you seem nervous or are fidgeting and slouching, this is less likely to work in your favour.<\/p>\n The way you speak is also key here. If you want to come across as a man who is self-assured and comfortable in his own skin, speak in a strong, sure voice, as this will ooze confidence.<\/p>\n If you have a tendency to get nervous – and let’s face it, who doesn’t on a first date? – then take a few deep breaths before meeting her.<\/p>\n Be a good listener<\/strong><\/p>\n Nothing turns a woman off more than when a man does not listen to a word she says. If you are too busy staring out the window – or even worse – at another lady while she is talking, or if you miss key points in the conversation, you are basically crossing yourself off of her romance list.<\/p>\n Women like men who listen and if you are not that guy, then you are going to find it difficult to build a rapport with the woman you like.<\/p>\n Keep your eyes focussed on her, pay attention to what she says and respond accordingly. If you seem interested and engaged, she is more likely to respond in a positive way.<\/p>\n Banter<\/strong><\/p>\n Nothing wins a date more than the banter. If you have a good rapport flowing between you both, don’t be afraid to make jokes and lightheartedly tease her, to make the conversation more flirtatious and less robotic.<\/p>\n Of course at the same time, you should know your boundaries, but gentle disagreements over your tastes in film, or food for example, can work out well, if you are both relaxed and comfortable in each other’s company.
