{"id":3142,"date":"2015-07-14T17:23:47","date_gmt":"2015-07-14T17:23:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forcespenpals.net\/p=?3142"},"modified":"2015-07-14T17:23:47","modified_gmt":"2015-07-14T17:23:47","slug":"strangers-marry-as-part-of-reality-tv-show","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forcespenpals.net\/gb\/news\/strangers-marry-as-part-of-reality-tv-show\/","title":{"rendered":"Strangers marry as part of reality TV show"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two complete strangers decided to marry for a reality TV show, it has been revealed.<\/p>\n<p>Emma Rathbone, 32, and James Ord-Hume, 33, got married on the show despite never having met before.<\/p>\n<p>Scientists at Channel 4's Married at First Sight they believe that a swab of saliva and a few chest measurements will lead to the perfect match.<\/p>\n<p>Before meeting their new partners, the hapless participants listed the typical reasons for not finding love.<\/p>\n<p>This included things such as incompatibility, not 'meeting the one', and having too many dates that didn't go anywhere.<\/p>\n<p>The 'matched' partners commit to a legal civil ceremony, attend their own reception and go on an all-expenses-paid honeymoon.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>When they return from their honeymoon, they then move in together and have five weeks to decide if they want to stay married or divorce.<\/p>\n<p>Channel 4 described the documentary as 'groundbreaking'.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking about the big day, Emma said: &quot;When I saw James, my first thought was relief &mdash; he had nice eyes and looked smart. He immediately put me at ease.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>However, James described the first encounter as 'awkward'.<\/p>\n<p>Emma also failed to get the support of all of her family members and said that her father refused to support or attend the ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>She also added that there is 'a lot of work to do'.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;&lsquo;Physically, we&rsquo;ve both said, if we met in the pub, we probably wouldn&rsquo;t stop for each other. Obviously, attraction is very important and that can affect your sexual relationship, so we have some work to do in that area,&quot; she explained.<\/p>\n<p>Both couples admitted that they didn't really fancy each other and wouldn't have got chatting in a bar.<\/p>\n<p>Time will tell if it works out for the couple.<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"ADNFCR-2867-ID-801794321-ADNFCR\"
