{"id":3095,"date":"2015-05-23T14:40:38","date_gmt":"2015-05-23T14:40:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forcespenpals.net\/p=?3095"},"modified":"2015-05-23T14:40:38","modified_gmt":"2015-05-23T14:40:38","slug":"special-artwork-to-be-displayed-in-the-run-up-to-armed-forces-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forcespenpals.net\/gb\/news\/special-artwork-to-be-displayed-in-the-run-up-to-armed-forces-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Special artwork to be displayed in the run up to Armed Forces Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A special exhibition of artwork created by ex-service personnel will go on display, and is set to coincide with Armed Forces Day.<\/p>\n<p>The artists behind the work are those that have gone through mental health treatment funded by the charity Combat Stress, at their Surrey Treatment Centre.<\/p>\n<p>The work has been produced as part of a creative treatment programme used within the Art Therapy and Occupational Therapy sessions.<\/p>\n<p>It will go on display in Surrey Cathedral from June 22nd to 28th.<\/p>\n<p>This year, Armed forces Day takes place on June 27th and will be marked by a number of events taking place across the country.<\/p>\n<p>Other events in the pipeline include a Military Pageant with WWI Commemoration Airshow, which is held in honour of the contribution made by soldiers.<\/p>\n<p>The show will include flying displays of some of the most genuine, rare First World War aircraft in Europe.<\/p>\n<p>Families will also be able to see and experience many aspects of the life of a First World War soldier by visiting the Living History Area in Flitwick.<\/p>\n<p>The event takes place at number 10, Vicarage Hill on July 5th.<\/p>\n<p>In Ripley, the local town council will be holding a carnival.
