This year's Armed Forces Day event is set to be held in Guildford, it has been revealed.<\/p>\n

The national event takes place on June 27th and a raft of activities have been planned for military personnel and their families, veterans and members of the public.<\/p>\n

On the day, there will be a special service at Guildford Cathedral, followed by the parade.<\/p>\n

The parade will feature tri-Service personnel, supported by bands, veterans and cadets forces. It will lead participants up to Stoke Park, which will host open air performances from a variety of musicians and entertainers during the afternoon and early evening.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the findings, councillor David Elms, mayor of Guildford, said: "We are extremely proud that Guildford has been chosen to host the Armed Forces Day national event for the UK this year. This wonderful celebration, the highlight of 2015, will give us all a fantastic opportunity to show our support and appreciation for our Armed Forces and the sacrifices they make.<\/p>\n

"It is going to be a memorable day, worthy of leading the nation in honouring our Armed Forces. We expect to welcome tens of thousands of local people and visitors to this special day."<\/p>\n

There will also be a number of demonstrations on the day, including a performance from the Royal Marines band and the Royal Signals White Helmets Motorcycle display team.<\/p>\n

In addition, there will be another demonstration by the Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment and the Royal Air Force Queen’s Colour Squadron drill display team.<\/p>\n

Spectators will also be able to view a parachute drop from the Raiders – the Royal Navy Parachute Display Team.<\/p>\n
