Video clips taken by various individuals have documented trumpet-like noises coming from above, with no apparent cause.<\/p>\n
The deafening noises have been reported as far afield as Germany, Canada, the USA, Ukraine and Belarus.<\/p>\n
In 2008, an anonymous user posted a clip of the noise in Belarus, while Kimberly Wookey from British Columbia in Canada, recorded several noises in June 2013.<\/p>\n
Since then, she has recorded more instances of the phenomena, including one on May 7th.<\/p>\n
However, she was quick to dismiss any potential conspiracy theories associated with the sounds.<\/p>\n
She wrote: "I personally do not believe this has any religious connection, nor do I believe it is aliens, graders, trains, construction. I do believe it could be a geophysical phenomenon."<\/p>\n
Some citizens have even reported having nightmares and weird dreams as a result of the noise.<\/p>\n
Aaron Traylor, from Montana in the US, wrote: "I’ve had vivid nightmares ever since I posted the very eerie strange sounds that has Missoula talking and looking towards the sky; awful, awful nightmares.<\/p>\n
"My wife woke me from a dream last night where she says I was screaming like she’s never heard me scream before.<\/p>\n
"I was taking my daughter out for her daily exercise along with my dog. I started to hear the sounds early on in our little adventure and the first time it was heard my dog perked her ears up and my daughter stopped in her tracks."<\/p>\n
The mystery and uncertainty surrounding the racket has become so widespread, that NASA has intervened and come up with a theory of its own.<\/p>\n
It claims that the phenomena is produced as a result of the earth's natural noises, which sounds similar to loud music being played in the background.<\/p>\n
In a statement posted on its website, the agency said: "If humans had radio antennas instead of ears, we would hear a remarkable symphony of strange noises coming from our own planet. Scientists call them “tweeks,” “whistlers” and “sferics.”<\/p>\n
"They sound like background music from a flamboyant science fiction film, but this is not science fiction. Earth’s natural radio emissions are real and, although we’re mostly unaware of them, they are around us all the time."<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
