{"id":3051,"date":"2015-04-01T17:51:03","date_gmt":"2015-04-01T17:51:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forcespenpals.net\/p=?3051"},"modified":"2015-04-01T17:51:03","modified_gmt":"2015-04-01T17:51:03","slug":"british-couple-win-euromillions-twice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forcespenpals.net\/gb\/news\/british-couple-win-euromillions-twice\/","title":{"rendered":"British couple win EuroMillions..twice!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A British couple must feel like the luckiest duo in the world after winning the EuroMillions&hellip;twice.<br> David and Kathleen Long from Scunthorpe scooped &pound;1 million in 2013, and then again in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>The couple beat odds of more than 283 billion to one after their second stroke of fortune.<br> Mr Long said that he &ldquo;just knew it would be my turn again some day&rdquo; after going public about their winnings.<\/p>\n<p>He told reporters: &quot;I just had a feeling it was going to be me,&quot; he said. &quot;I tend to play when I know there are lots of prizes on the go. Last time I knew I had a good chance because there were 100 prizes of &pound;1 million.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Last Friday night I was passing the local shop and saw there were ten &pound;1 million prizes on EuroMillions and a nice car and thought yeah I'll give that a go. Got to be worth a few lines and I got five using my usual numbers.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the couple also won a top-of-the-range Jaguar. The couple explained that they regularly check the television and went online to view the status of their entry.<\/p>\n<p>They are the first people to win twice. A spokesman for Camelot claimed that in August 2013 Mr Long came nearly lost out on &pound;1 million after his winning ticket ended up in the rubbish bin when they thought they had won just &pound;2.70.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesman for Camelot said: &quot;This is an extraordinary situation where somebody's been fortunate enough to win twice. As you can imagine, we see winners who win once who are very, very shocked.
