And for one, his dream came true last week when he inadvertently gained thousands of followers thanks to a drunken mistake. <\/p>\n
Marcus Gray, 19, was on a night out in his home town of Oxford celebrating with a friend who was preparing to go off travelling the world. In his rather inebriated state, he had lost his friend and sent him a text to ask where he was. <\/p>\n
Later that evening when he returned home, still a little worse for wear, Marcus looked at his phone and saw a message reading "Are you in town?" Not realising it was he himself who had sent it, the teenager replied "Nah mate, I'm home now". <\/p>\n
The next morning, he realised his mistake and uploaded the screenshot of his phone to Twitter. Just a few hours later and with 11,000 retweets and 15,000 favourites, Marcus was Twitter famous!<\/p>\n
"It was only the next morning when I got up that I realised what I had done and how stupid I was," he told the Mirror.<\/p>\n
"I showed my friends and they were all laughing so I thought I’d just put it on Twitter – it’s crazy how it’s exploded," he added. <\/p>\n
Marcus is not the only one who has had a little bit of a stupid moment this week though. Reports from Delaware County, Pennsylvania, have claimed that a man called the building services to report that his toilet had become clogged. The reason? He had just tried to flush copious amounts of potatoes down it. <\/p>\n
As if that doesn't sound bizarre enough, the man was later arrested after he escalated his concerns in a unique fashion. Concerned that the maintenance department was not taking his report as seriously as he felt they should be, he pulled the fire alarm to hurry them up and ended up with a night in the cells for his troubles. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
