<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Most of us have probably enjoyed a little adventure around the world famous Hampton Court Maze at some point in our lives, and while it's a fun adventure, getting lost and worrying about managing to find our way out is something most people who have enjoyed the maze will have experienced. <\/p>\n
However, while it's normal to get lost and probably panic a little, one group of tourists were left with decidedly red faces after they got so lost in the 63-acre Cool Patch Pumpkins corn maze near Sacramento, California, the world's largest maze. <\/p>\n
A small portion of the group were separated from their friends somewhere in the maze and started to panic that they were not going to be able to get to the exit. As the sun started to set over the maze, the worried group, perhaps fearing a labyrinthian-style appearance from a minotaur, called police to come and rescue them. <\/p>\n
Daryl Snedeker, a deputy from the Solano County Sheriff’s Department, told CBS Sacramento: "I think they are a little overwhelmed. You can get a little worked up when you can’t get out of a place and everything looks the same."<\/p>\n
The red-faced group apparently didn't think that the best course of action was to ignore the maze itself and just walk through the corn until they came to the edge of the field. <\/p>\n
Matt Cooley, who owns Cool Patch Pumpkins, said he understood why his visitors may have been worried, but added that he has his own rescue team on hand to help stranded people escape each day. <\/p>\n
