A former England rugby player is hanging up his boots and embarking on a gruelling challA former England rugby player is hanging up his boots and embarking on a gruelling challenge in aid of Help for Heroes.<\/p>\n
Josh Lewsy and close friend Maj Keith Reesby – who he met ten years ago at Sandhurst Military Academy – are hoping to climb the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest, in order to raise money for the Help for Heroes charity. <\/p>\n
Lewsy tells the BBC: "There are a few nerves and a bit of trepidation but I’m quite excited now – we are ready to give it a crack."<\/p>\n
Winds of up to 100 miles per hour have been hitting the mountain over the past few days, but as these are now dropping, the pair have been given a five-day window to complete their expedition. <\/p>\n
Survival expert Bear Grylls recently showed his support for the Help for Heroes charity by joining 200 joggers to take part in a sponsored run to raise money to provide assistance for soldiers wounded in battle, the Wiltshire Gazette and Herald reported. <\/p>\n
