{"id":278,"date":"2010-05-10T13:53:04","date_gmt":"2010-05-10T13:53:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forcespenpals.net\/p=?278"},"modified":"2010-05-10T13:53:04","modified_gmt":"2010-05-10T13:53:04","slug":"3-rifles-given-heros-welcome-in-edinburgh","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forcespenpals.net\/gb\/news\/3-rifles-given-heros-welcome-in-edinburgh\/","title":{"rendered":"3 Rifles given hero&#8217;s welcome in Edinburgh"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Thousands of people packed into the streets of Edinburgh on Saturday (May 8th) to welcome home the 3 Rifles from Afghanistan.<\/p>\n<p>In a highly emotional day, members of the public lined the Royal Mile as troops made their way from Edinburgh Castle to Holyrood Palace and cheered them on all the way.<\/p>\n<p>An army spokeswoman said that the turnout and the well wishes from the crowd really plucked at the soldiers&rsquo; heart strings.<\/p>\n<p>You couldn&rsquo;t walk down the pavements of the Royal Mile because there were that many people waiting to see them.
