Proposing in an unusual way is a wonderful way to create a romantic memory that will last for a lifetime.

That is exactly what one man in Cambridgeshire achieved when he had a jigsaw puzzle specially made for his partner.

Joe Boast waited for his girlfriend Carly Rutter to return home from a holiday before presenting her with a gift.

He had deliberately hidden the final few pieces, so he waited for her to put together the image of their faces adorned with a romantic poem.

It was only when he handed over the last pieces that she realised the final words spelled out: "Carly Suzanna Rutter, I love you. Will you marry me?"

Miss Rutter explained: "I didn't realise until the very end because he'd hidden those pieces, the last bit with the question on. I probably didn't give him the best response because I was just angry he'd given me more puzzle pieces."
