Ugo Ehiogu is the latest big name to sign up for an upcoming charity football match designed to raise money for Help for Heroes.

The former Aston Villa defender has agreed to play in the Football for Heroes match, as he has been inspired by his own brother's work in the services.

Uzo Ehiogu served as a physiotherapist with the British Defence Medical Services team in Afghanistan.

His more famous brother will now take to the pitch once more alongside a host of other ex-footballers including former Coventry stars Lee Carsley and Darren Huckerby.

A big crowd will hopefully be in attendance to witness some former favourites in action and to raise plenty of money for the good cause.

Commenting on Help for Heroes, Ehiogu told the Birmingham Mail: "It's certainly a cause that's close to my heart. I'm endeared to people in the military because my brother served in two tours of Afghanistan."
