living on the bread line and not.<\/p>\n<p>But one academic in the US might have taken things a bit too far, by deciding to auction her virginity in the hope of raising $400,000 (&pound;242,000), reports Metro.<\/p>\n<p>Elizabeth Raine &ndash; which is the alias of the student in question &ndash; has invited bids on the unusual lot and promised to go through with it no matter who the winner is.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;The concept does not offend me, it is a unique opportunity for excitement and growth, and I need not mention the nice financial bonus,&quot; she stated.<\/p>\n<p>The highest bidder will enjoy a 12-hour date with the student, during which time the 27-year-old will offer to lose her virginity.<\/p>\n<p>She has also revealed that 35 per cent of the money she receives from the auction will be handed to charity.<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"ADNFCR-2867-ID-801705279-ADNFCR\"
