{"id":2603,"date":"2014-01-13T15:41:52","date_gmt":"2014-01-13T15:41:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forcespenpals.net\/p=?2603"},"modified":"2014-01-13T15:41:52","modified_gmt":"2014-01-13T15:41:52","slug":"midlands-couples-caribbean-dream-ruined-by-choosing-wrong-birmingham","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forcespenpals.net\/gb\/news\/midlands-couples-caribbean-dream-ruined-by-choosing-wrong-birmingham\/","title":{"rendered":"Midlands couple&#8217;s Caribbean dream ruined by choosing &#8216;wrong Birmingham&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A couple from the Midlands saw their dream of a Caribbean holiday ruined recently when they booked tickets from the wrong Birmingham.<\/p>\n<p>Kevin Jones and his partner Jeanette were delighted to book bargain tickets from Birmingham to the tropical island of Trinidad for around &pound;800.<\/p>\n<p>Not even the fact the journey to the Caribbean destination was from Birmingham Shuttlesworth International Airport raised suspicion to begin with.<\/p>\n<p>They only found these flights were from the city of Birmingham in Alabama, US rather than the West Midlands when they arrived at their local airport.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;The girl at the information desk broke the news with a very sympathetic look that our flight was leaving over 2,000 miles away,&quot; Mr Jones told the Sun on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>As a result, they had no choice but to leave the airport and drive home, although they made up for the disappointment by instead taking a break in Benidorm, Spain.<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"ADNFCR-2867-ID-801681594-ADNFCR\" src=\"http:\/\/feeds.directnews.co.uk\/feedtrack\/justcopyright.gif?feedid=2867&amp;itemid=801681594\"\/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A couple booked flights from Birmingham, Alabama rather than the West Midlands city.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":4089,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_et_pb_use_builder":"","_et_pb_old_content":"","_et_gb_content_width":"","_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[4],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-2603","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-lads-mag-for-armed-forces"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.2 -
