{"id":2551,"date":"2013-12-11T15:39:22","date_gmt":"2013-12-11T15:39:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forcespenpals.net\/p=?2551"},"modified":"2013-12-11T15:39:22","modified_gmt":"2013-12-11T15:39:22","slug":"help-for-heroes-supports-ex-soldiers-in-archery-qualifications","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forcespenpals.net\/gb\/news\/help-for-heroes-supports-ex-soldiers-in-archery-qualifications\/","title":{"rendered":"Help for Heroes supports ex-soldiers in archery qualifications"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There are many ways to get former soldiers back on their feet after being injured in combat, and in one case it seems archery is providing the answers.<\/p>\n<p>Help for Heroes has presented a group of sick service personnel and veterans at one of its recovery centres with archery leaders qualifications, reports the Northern Echo.<\/p>\n<p>It taught 12 people all about becoming better archers and all the basics of the sport so that they are now able to teach children and adults.<\/p>\n<p>This took place at the Phoenix House Recovery Centre in Catterick Garrison, where the charity also put on swimming lessons, art therapy and gym classes.<\/p>\n<p>Funding for the course came from the Help for Heroes Battleback programme, which seeks to use sports and adventure training to help wounded servicemen and women gain independence.<\/p>\n<p>By giving them the knowledge required to teach archery, the good cause is presenting people with an opportunity to develop a future career.<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"ADNFCR-2867-ID-801671351-ADNFCR\" src=\"http:\/\/feeds.directnews.co.uk\/feedtrack\/justcopyright.gif?feedid=2867&amp;itemid=801671351\"\/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Archery has been a hobby for a number of former soldiers at a rehabilitation centre.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":4141,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_et_pb_use_builder":"","_et_pb_old_content":"","_et_gb_content_width":"","_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[6],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-2551","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-support-soldiers"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.2 -
