A group of military personnel from an airbase in North Yorkshire have announced their intention to complete a mammoth cycling expedition in the name of charity.

The group of four men will ride for some 874 miles from John O'Groats to Land's End in order to raise money for Help for Heroes, reports the Press.

Private Simon Wakelin, Flt Lt Bel Smith, Lance Corporal Tim Aston, Lance Corporal Dave Stanley, and Private Dave Brunton from the RAF Linton-on-Ouse base in the north of England will join forces to tackle the hugely impressive challenge.

The good news for the group is that they have completed the route before, having done so last year also in the name of charity, when they raised £5,500.

Their aim this year is to increase the donations they receive to £7,500, all of which will be handed over to Help for Heroes once the ride has been completed.
