Single soldiers who are thinking about updating their online dating profile should make sure they choose the right display picture, as one expert has described this decision as "critical".<\/p>\n
Sree Sreenivasan, writing for DNAinfo.com, says: "Never before has so much been determined by a photo the size of your thumbnail."<\/p>\n
He states that the picture you select can have a massive impact on a potential partner’s perceptions and go so far as to influence how they engage with you.<\/p>\n
"You have to give people a reason not to ignore you. And having a goofy or unclear or confusing profile photo is a way to guarantee you’ll be ignored," Mr Sreenivasan adds.<\/p>\n
He advises no wigs, sunglasses or hats and no digital enhancing of photographs. <\/p>\n
Dr Terri Orburch, also known as the Love Doctor, recently advised that single soldiers would be wise to take into account that first impressions definitely do matter.<\/p>\n
