Help for Heroes stands to gain from a 24-mile walk tackled by two teenagers in Hampshire, who completed the challenge in order to raise money for the charity.

Mark Nicholls, 16, and Ashley Parker, 18, walked for the charity in memory of royal marine David O'Connor, who was from Havant, reports the Portsmouth News.

The pair wore full army uniform and boots during the trek, while they carried backpacks weighing between 30kg and 50kg on their backs.

Mr Nicholls said: "This is the second time I have done something like this. The first time, I walked 20 miles, but thought I would push myself a little more and do something bigger."

While he acknowledged an extra four miles does not sound a lot, it actually made a huge difference and left him feeling exhausted.

The duo raised approximately £150, which will go towards helping injured and wounded servicemen and women.
