A special fashion show put on in Romford helped to raise approximately £2,600 for military charity Help for Heroes.

In excess of 200 people dressed up in their very finest attire at the Havering Fashion Heroes event, which took place on Monday (April 1st), reports the Romford Recorder.

The show was held at the Brickyard Bar and Grill in South Street and was used as a chance to promote the skills and offerings of local businesses.

Karen Wilton, owner of The Only Way Is Bikinis, organised the event and said: "People loved the designs and said they liked that there were models in a range of sizes and ages on the catwalk."

Louise Lawrence from Romford took home the best dressed prize, after showing up in a lime green bodycon dress.

She decided to take part in the fashion show to support Help for Heroes as her brother Luke has only recently headed to Afghanistan.
