People who sign up for online dating sites should brace themselves for rejection, both in the shape of potential partners not replying to their messages and conversations being abandoned.<\/p>\n
Jim Duzak, writing for the Green Valley News and Sun, has answered a letter from reader Jill in which she asks why she is being ignored by men online, despite ticking all the boxes they claim to be looking for.<\/p>\n
"Thoughtlessness and bad manners are common in the world of online dating. I suppose you could say that's true of life in general these days, but the anonymity of dating sites only makes things worse," Mr Duzak explained.<\/p>\n
He went on to suggest people who are searching for a partner online should seek to find a balance between being optimistic and reality.<\/p>\n
If optimism is not present in an online dater, they may as well give up before they start, but similarly people should remain realistic about who they are likely to find.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
