Christina Clements, president of Crayford Women’s Institute in Kent, told the Bexley Times that she was touched by the thanks the group received after sending parcels and cards to troops serving in the country.<\/p>\n
"All the women fully support our troops in Afghanistan and around the country," she said.<\/p>\n
"It’s so heart-warming to see how appreciative they are for the simple, basic things in life."<\/p>\n
She went on to add that people in the UK should be truly grateful to the troops for all the hard work of soldiers serving on the frontline.<\/p>\n
The Crayford Women’s Institute teamed up with national organisation Support our Services and the Ministry of Defence to deliver the packages filled with day-to-day essentials that are not available in Afghanistan. <\/p>\n
Similarly, mothers of troops in Somerset recently sent 10,000 home comfort boxes to Afghanistan to remind soldiers that everyone back home is thinking of them, This Is Somerset reported.<\/p>\n
