{"id":2013,"date":"2013-02-13T16:06:02","date_gmt":"2013-02-13T16:06:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forcespenpals.net\/p=?2013"},"modified":"2013-02-13T16:06:02","modified_gmt":"2013-02-13T16:06:02","slug":"brake-failure-results-in-high-speed-car-chase","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forcespenpals.net\/gb\/news\/brake-failure-results-in-high-speed-car-chase\/","title":{"rendered":"Brake failure &#8216;results in high-speed car chase&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Police were forced to chase a car through northern France after its brakes failed and the driver was left travelling at 125mph.<\/p>\n<p>Frank Lecerf popped out to visit his local shops but was plunged into chaos when the speed dial of his Renault Laguna jammed at 60mph.<\/p>\n<p>Any pressure he put on the brakes in a bid to slow down resulted in the car moving faster, soon reaching its top speed.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Lecerf was able to alert the emergency services and they cleared the road ahead of him and had toll booth barriers raised.<\/p>\n<p>He later admitted to Le Courrier Picard that his &quot;life flashed before his eyes&quot; and that he had &quot;just wanted it to stop&quot;.<\/p>\n<p>The high-speed chase along the motorway only came to an end after some time when the car ran out of petrol and crashed into a ditch, with Mr Lecerf thankfully escaping from the incident unhurt.<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"ADNFCR-2867-ID-801539891-ADNFCR\" src=\"http:\/\/feeds.directnews.co.uk\/feedtrack\/justcopyright.gif?feedid=2867&amp;itemid=801539891\"\/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A bizarre police chase took place when a car&rsquo;s brakes failed on the motorway.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":4679,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_et_pb_use_builder":"","_et_pb_old_content":"","_et_gb_content_width":"","_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[4],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-2013","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-lads-mag-for-armed-forces"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.2 -
