If you escaped from jail, what would be the first thing you would do?

I'm sure many people would have the same thought as 40-year-old Timothy Bonner, who went for a pint in his local pub.

Unfortunately for the man, who had managed to break free from a cell in Smith Township, Pennsylvania, the police caught up with him before he had a chance to drink it.

One of the other patrons at Richy's Bar said: "He asked me to buy him a beer, so I bought him a beer. He didn't even get to take a drink of it before they slammed him on the bar."

As a result of this ill judgment, Mr Bonner – who was initially arrested for assault – is now facing further charges and seems likely to go to prison for even longer.

You have to feel sorry for Mr Bonner, as it is now going to be a long time before he gets to taste a pint.
