How much would you be willing to spend on a bacon sandwich?

It's one of the staple food products in the UK, but one cafe owner in Cheltenham has decided to make a deluxe version that will set you back £150.

Named the Bacon Bling, the butty features bacon from a rare breed of pig, truffle spread, watercress, free range eggs, sliced truffles, saffron and edible gold dust and the ingredients cost around £50.

Paul Philip, owner of Tangberry's coffee house, is hoping to raise plenty of money for charity by offering the bespoke sandwich to customers.

"It is a bit cheeky though, it's expensive – but hopefully there are people out there willing to part with their cash for a good quality bacon sarnie," he added.

SKRUM, a British charity that helps children in Swaziland to play rugby, is one of the good causes set to benefit from the initiative.
