Having a sore stomach is not a very pleasant experience for people.

They can be miserable and often do not want to get out of bed, which can be very frustrating for other family members.

However, this could all change with the news that a novel treatment is being advised by doctors – drinking either Coca Cola, Diet Coke or Coke Zero.

Apparently the bubbles and chemical make-up of the beverage makes it an effective cure for a condition known as gastric phytobezoar, which causes stomach blockages and bowel obstructions if untreated.

Researchers from the University of Athens found that over the past ten years, 46 patients have been treated in this manner.

In half of the cases, the drink helped to completely destroy the blockage.

When you consider that the alternative to drinking the fizzy juice is invasive surgery, I'm sure most people will be more than happy to consume it.
