A series of 500 limited edition prints of motorcyclist John McGuinness are going on sale to raise money for Help for Heroes (H4H).

The prints will cost £50 and so a significant sum could be raised for the military charity if they all sell, the Visitor reports.

Peter Foster, the artist responsible for the original portrait the prints are based on, knows Mr McGuinness as they are both members of the Morecambe Classic Bike Club.

The print captures McGuinness doing 170mph on his way to his 18th TT race win on the Isle of Man course earlier this year.

Mr Foster said he has known Mr McGuinness – who is second on the all-time list of TT race winners – for a long time and started following his career back in 1999.

Of the finished version, Mr McGuinness said: "I think it's really, really smart. I know nothing about art but this really jumps out at you."
