Learning to swim is an important part of growing up, as it is good if kids are able to look after themselves in the water.

While it is a skill that has to be taught, some have more aptitude than others, as evidenced by the experience of Ellie and William Trykush.

These twins can swim the length of a 25-metre swimming pool unaided, despite the fact they are only nine months old.

I doubt Michael Phelps – the most decorated Olympian of all time – was able to do this at that age and so these kids are quite extraordinary.

Amazingly, their parents didn't even realise there was anything strange about this, with their mum Charley stating: "I thought all babies could do it. It wasn't until we came to swimming lessons and people got so excited about it that we realised just how unusual it was."

Unsurprisingly, their dad Vic is already targeting the 2028 Olympics, when the children will be 16.
