People should not be afraid to show their true personalities when on a first date.

For those using online dating, knowing what way to act on an initial meeting is usually a problem encountered by many.

"The more we share our real feelings, desires and vulnerability, the more we risk being hurt. As a result, we often create airbrushed versions of ourselves for the world to see," he added.

Mr Page – who is the author of Deeper Dating – said single individuals should try to showcase their vigour, soul and magnetism, as this will ultimately make them seem very attractive to the opposite sex.

The expert also thinks it is vital that people do not look for Mr or Mrs Right until they are ready to commit to a relationship.
