A wedding is always a special occasion for everyone involved.

Usually, a lot of attention is placed on what dress the bride is wearing, but this was not the case for Josefin Sockertopp and Sonnie Gustavsson.

The pair recently tied the knot in what is thought to be the UK's first Klingon wedding.

Both are massive Star Trek enthusiasts and took the opportunity of flying over from Sweden to attend an official convention in London's ExCeL Centre.

"I've been a fan of Star Trek since I was little. The Klingons are strong characters and they bond together. The ceremony was really fun," Mr Gustavsson said.

As well as making all the normal vows, the pair also declared to fight together against all opponents, while the traditional post-wedding kiss was replaced by a Klingon cry of "yIn, batIh, Qapla!" – or life, honour and success – from the man who conducted the ceremony.
