Two former soldiers have cycled 100 miles in order to raise money for Help for Heroes (H4H).

Adrian Sweet and Lee Gale are both from Grimsby and they made the round trip from Horncastle to Healing, the Grimsby Telegraph reports.

All of the money raised will go to the military charity – which celebrated its fifth birthday yesterday (October 1st) – and various stores in Freshney Place agreed to sponsor the duo.

The pair have 27 years of service between them and were keen to do their bit to raise money for those injured while on the front line.

Mr Sweet said: "As ex-army men, H4H is a charity close to our hearts. Although we knew it would be a tough journey ahead, setting off we were in good spirits."

He added the last 30 miles were really tough, as they had to negotiate two steep climbs and they were both very tired.
