The Soldier's Charity is one of three charities set to benefit from an epic 56-day walk.

It will see a group of fundraisers set off from Hull, make their way up to John O'Groats in Scotland, before going to Land's End and then back to Hull.

The trek is the brainchild of Aaron Howlett and he told the Hull Daily Mail that he has given up his job in order to fully concentrate on planning it.

Mr Howlett – who previously won the TV series Biggest Loser after shedding over ten stone – stated: "It's really been a labour of love for me and I like the fact that's it's a bit out of my comfort zone."

Michael Moorley, who used to be a member of the Royal Logistics Core, said he is looking forward to taking part in the trek – which he believes will foster community relations – and raising cash for a great cause.
