A vicar in Cheltenham has given a sermon with a difference.

Keen to relate the story of how the Holy Spirit descended upon Jesus' disciples, Nick Davies introduced a bit of novelty into the speech in the form of fire breathing.

He was marking Pentecost when he struck upon the idea and it certainly left his congregation in a state of shock.

"I don't get many ooh's and aah's and gasps during my sermon but I did this morning," Mr Davies said.

The vicar learned to fire breathe a while ago as he thought it would be a good party trick, but I'm not sure he ever thought he'd be able to use it in his day job.

He added it is good to bring a bit of wow factor to church – there is no doubting he certainly did that and who knows what his next move will be.
