Two pub managers are running from Weston to King's Lynn to collect cash for a military charity.

The 28.2-mile challenge will be carried out in June by Jake Smith and Alex Turner, the Spalding Guardian reports.

All of the money raised will go to Scotty's Little Soldiers, which helps children of men and women who have been killed while serving in the British Armed Forces.

Mr Smith – who stated that neither of the pair is particularly fit – revealed they have set a £25,000 target and a series of events will be held to help them hit the mark.

"We both wanted to do a charity fundraiser and we both have military connections. We wanted to do something a bit different," he added.

The lads are considering a career in military service and Mr Smith already has a place at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst to train as an officer.
