A charity ball is being held in Liverpool to celebrate the military charity Walking with the Wounded.

The black tie event will take place on June 22nd and will double up as a homecoming for an expedition team of nine people currently in the Himalayas.

According to the Liverpool Echo, former Atomic Kitten star Natasha Hamilton will be one of those performing at the gig, which is being held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

"To be asked to perform for the Walking with the Wounded team in my home city is a great honour. These men have made great sacrifices and now have significant hardship," Hamilton stated.

Martin Hewitt, who is leading the team in Nepal, added he is delighted to hear of the plans for their return.

The group is scheduled to take part in the world's highest ever whisky tasting later on today (May 10th) from Everest Base Camp.
