Paratrooper Parkinson lost both legs and suffered brain trauma following a mine blast in Afghanistan and he told the Daily Mirror of how grateful he is for all the support shown to him by the public and the charity.<\/p>\n
It has completely modified his home by widening doorways and lowering kitchen work surfaces so he can use them.<\/p>\n
He told the newspaper that he aims to walk again within the next 12 months and this will be helped by a gym he has had fitted into his house.<\/p>\n
"The home gym, in particular, is brilliant. It has proved so helpful and is really speeding up my rehabilitation. I can use it to build my strength. The charity is amazing and I really appreciate all they’ve done for me," Mr Parkinson added.<\/p>\n
Clare Marshall-Threse, mother of lance corporal military police officer Aaron, recently told the Burton Mail about her participation in the Help for Heroes and Support Our Soldiers initiatives to raise money for troops in the British army.<\/p>\n
