Prince Harry has expressed his gratitude to people getting behind a fundraiser aimed at generating money for Help for Heroes (H4H).

The royal has lent his support to the Destination Dubai 2012 event, which will see three former soldiers embarking on a 6,000-mile motorbike adventure that takes in eight countries, including Egypt and Saudi Arabia, the Sun reports.

As part of the journey, which stretches from Britain to Dubai, Geoff Warren, Colin Harker and Chris Brice will ride ten hours a day for a two-week stretch.

A spokesman for Prince Harry said the royal family member – who served for a spell in the front line in Afghanistan – is a strong supporter of H4H and the work it does for servicemen and women injured in battle.

The representative stated: "The prince is pleased that so many people, including the Sun, are backing this important cause."

These sentiments were echoed by David Cameron, with the prime minister wishing the three men a "great adventure", adding he admires their enterprise and courage.
