Women should be bold when suggesting that an online courtship should be taken to the next level.

If a lady has been corresponding with a man for more than three messages each way, then dating expert Laurie Davis believes they should suggest meeting up.

Writing in the Huffington Post, Ms Davis observed there is nothing wrong with being "digitally daring" when it comes to love.

"When subtle hints don't work, simply say that you'd love to meet. The trick here is to make it a statement, not a question," she added.

The specialist went on to note that bringing up the weekend is a good ploy to get the opposite sex thinking about a possible rendezvous.

Mentioning a current exhibit or attraction is also a good move, as this gives the male the opportunity to suggest going to see it together.

Ms Davis continued by saying men should still look to be chivalrous with their dates.
