Public signage is an important part of life, as it provides people with valuable information.

However, council officials in Oxford have been left red faced after misspelling the word school.

The employees have had a bit of a nightmare here, as they painted schoul on the pavement outside Wolverton Primary School.

It has certainly made them look a bit stupid and unsurprisingly the blame game has already started, with the local authority saying BT is behind the blunder.

One parent quipped: "It wouldn't be a bad idea if they came back here for a few lessons."

Another student's mother stated the people responsible for the gaffe must be very embarrassed.

Amazingly, Oxford Council has remarked there are no immediate plans to correct the mistake, which means kids will be going to schoul for the time being.

If I worked there, I would make it a top priority to have the issue resolved.
