Singletons looking for love would be well advised to give up smoking.<\/p>\n
This is because research by the Department of Health has found that the pastime is seen as a turn off by many.<\/p>\n
Among 18 to 24 year olds, 76 per cent said smoking makes people less attractive, while 74 per cent would not kiss someone who has just had a cigarette.<\/p>\n
In terms of online dating sites, an average of 74 per cent of individuals have indicated an unwillingness to meet up with anyone who smokes.<\/p>\n
Sarah Beeny, presenter of Channel 4's Property Ladder and Help! My House Is Falling Down – stated: "It does clearly influence a person's decision to date you. It's particularly obvious that non-smokers find it harder to live with a smoker."<\/p>\n
Some 47 per cent of those questioned said they would think twice about embarking on a relationship with someone who lit up.<\/p>\n
